Originally I am from Switzerland, where I trained as a display designer, I came to New Zealand on holiday and fell in love with a west coaster. Making creative hats out of recycled materials I travelled to markets in Nelson and Christchurch to sell my products.
In the last few years my main focus has been in creating Wire Sculptures, and I exhibit in Galleries around New Zealand.
I still enjoy making hats and other craft items for Punakaiki Craft Shop as it is a stimulating and a fun thing to do. I have a passion for creativity and search for new ways to express themes, colours and styles. In my Wire Work aspecialy I like to express concepts of humanity, such as reflection on life experiences, and more recently explore microscopic landscapes of nature and reinterpret it in to my work to give it texture and a new layer of depth. Veronika is a member of the Punakaiki Crafts Co-Operative. |
