Frances moved from Wellington to the West Coast in the 1980's, where her keen interest in weaving was further inspired by the beauty of the area.

Working from her home Frances takes time to raise her family and create woven landscapes of the local area.
The ocean is a comforting sound always to be heard from her house and is the primary inspiration for her woven pieces. Always trying to capture the concept of the seas perpetual motion is something that has kept Frances on the lookout for new materials and weaving techniques.
Frances is a member of the Punakaiki Crafts Co-Operative.
